About

“Words for the Weekend” is now “Words for the Year.”

Thank you for the support and patronage every weekend. You’re invited to join us at our new home, “Words for the Year.” Instead of weekly posts, we now offer daily posts; typically one poem per day.

“Words for the Weekend” will remain online for archive purposes.

Ten thousand words swarm around my head
Ten million more in books written beneath my bed
I wrote or read them all when searchin’ in the swarms
Still can’t find out how to hold my hands

Ten Thousand Words” by The Avett Brothers

Words for the Weekend is a commonplace collection of the Arts: music, poetry and prose, and visual arts. It is published on various weekends for your reading and listening pleasure. We no longer have a set publishing schedule, but we do try to publish at least monthly.
